Self catering holidays - private villas in Calis Beach & Uzumlu in Turkey

Villa Aysun - Uzumlu

Uzumlu - a traditional Turkish village where life continues at a leisurely pace and little has changed for centuries.  Here you will discover the "real Turkey", enjoy the hospitality of the locals and experience the enchantment of rural life.  Hear the birds singing, cowbells ringing and a donkey braying, whilst tortoises amble along the road.  Uzumlu boasts a Post Office, school, jandarma (police station) and a few shops for your daily needs.  The heart of the village is the square with its tea house and the weekly Friday market where you can buy fresh produce.  Pop into the newly opened wine bar in the village and try some of the local restaurants - you won't be disappointed.  The Cadianda restaurant (one of our favourites) is just a five minute walk from the villa.  Villa Aysun is located on a small development of three privately owned villas and whilst it is only two minutes from the dolmus route, please bear in mind that Uzumlu is in a rural location and the dolmus only runs hourly.  A 20 minute drive will take you into Calis Beach and Fethiye.  Villa Aysun (sleeps 8 + cot) - luxury detached villa set in its own grounds with private pool, beautifully furnished and fully equipped.

What do our guests say about Villa Aysun?

Uzumlu

The time-locked village of Uzumlu is worth a visit, especially on Friday (market day) followed by a short drive to Cadianda where it is worth the climb to see the spectacular views.  On the looms a local pure cotton material is woven by ladies which is known by the name of "Dastar" throughout the country.
